Modi's Closest Encounter With Tiger

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday came face-to-face with a tiger in Chhattisgarh, albeit the big cat was inside a mesh wire cage in the states’ popular Nandan Van nature centre.

Armed with a DSLR camera, Modi, who has a penchant for photography went on a jungle safari along with state Chief Minister Raman Singh. The PM clicked the ferocious beast up close from different angles.
“Was taken to the jungle safari by the Chief Minister. It is his pet project. I see great scope for tourism in Chhattisgarh. Why must we give importance to tourism? Because it gives economic opportunities to the poorest of the poor,” Modi said in a series of tweets.
He also shared three photographs of him shooting the tiger along with the caption: “One for the camera….at the Nandan Van Jungle Safari in Naya Raipur.”

The Prime Minister reached Chhattisgarh on Tuesday to take part in the state’s 16th foundation day celebrations in Naya Raipur and will also launch 'Saur Sujala Yojana' which aims to provide solar pumps to 51,000 farmers for irrigation in state.
